St Leonards West Marina Depot 27th December 1962
At 8.45pm propelling 12-car ex Cleaning Shed (6L unit 1011 + 6S unit 1001) converging collision with 6B unit 1007 ex Diesel Shed. 1007 had 60706 + 60520 damaged body and frames. 6L unit 1011 had 60015 + 60521 damaged. Suggested reform was 1011 (tfc) 60014 + 60522 + 60523 + 60707 + 60518 + 60013. 1007 (dam) 60015 + 60521+ 60706 + 60520 + 60519 + 60012, repaired at Lancing?


St Leonards West Marina Depot 13th June 1963
6L unit 1019 hit buffers during shunting, 60031 leading, gangway damaged, sent to Eastleigh (with 60030).


Eastleigh 19th November 1963
3H ‘Hampshire’ unit 1103 standing in station hit by Salisbury – Chichester goods train, loco 30838. Unit pushed 40’, all three coaches damaged, DTC worst, to Eastleigh works for repair.

 Reading West 16th December 1963

3H ‘Hampshire’ unit 1112 in converging collision, DTC 60811 damaged (quite badly - 24’ of body); to Eastleigh for repairs.


Eastleigh 24th February 1964
Approx 4.0am, diesel loco shunting hit TS 60668 of 3H unit 1123 broadside, extensive damage. Unit reform at Micheldever 4-3-64. 5800 disbanded, MBS 61624 onto 5352, then to Eastleigh. DTS 75636 stored under cover in shed, (cushions removed) and placed on ‘SR’ type bogies.

 Eastleigh Yard 21st September 1964
3 H ‘Hampshire’ unit 1129 left foul at rear of diesel shed, DTC 60828 hit by loco 75066.


Eastleigh 28th November 1964
3H ‘Hampshire’ unit 1101 left foul and DTC 60800 hit by loco 34050, derailed and damaged. To Eastleigh for repair.
