80 Class Driving Trailer No 740

Railtour, Ballymena (1983)
A two-car “80” class set (740,86), working an Irish Railway Record Society railtour from Belfast Central to Londonderry and back, pausing at Ballymena for photographs. The face on the right of the island platform was originally used by the narrow (3ft) gauge trains to Larne and Red Bay. Much of the area and the former yard is now the park and ride car park.

740 seen off its bogies at downhill after the train hit a landslide, for more info about this incident click here
