Cranmore Station which is the base of the East Somerset Railway, the platform ends at the signalbox and it goes to show that the station wasnt equipped for 12 car trains

The Branch Line Society

8th March 1986

A tour operated by the Branch Line Society two units were used both 6S 1005 & 1007. The tour started at Eastbourne ran up to the outskirts of London before getting on to the North London line at Clapham Jcn before the short trip to North Pole Jcn where it diverted onto the Western Region, from there it went straight down the Western main line to Somerset.

​The aim of the tour was to visit the Quarries of Merehead and Whatley with trip over the East Somerset Railway at Cranmore .
